Today during World Immunization Week we feature Dr. Justin Tongun. Dr. Justin is the current Executive Director for Al Sabbah Children’s Hospital in Juba, South Sudan. He is a Pediatrician and the current Secretary General for the South Sudan Pediatric Association (SSPA).
Dr. Justin is pictured below receiving the Covid 19 vaccine as part of the initial vaccination for frontline workers in Juba, South Sudan. The Covid 19 vaccine is currently available for frontline workers and those at risk for severe disease. At the moment it has not been licensed for those under 18 years of age.
Vaccines prevent the spread of many diseases. These include measles , polio, mumps , chicken pox, whooping cough , diphtheria , and HPV. Vaccination has reduced morbidity and mortality due to preventable diseases in children by protecting children from serious complications of diseases and death. Please ensure that your child gets vaccinated according to the vaccine schedule. Vaccines save lives!
